S-Parameter Functions
Combine Touchstone Files
Connector electrical tests are often conducted on a 4-port VNA, so the test results will be in contained within multiple .s4p files. This is not very convenient to use in post-processing or in subsequent simulations. Inspector includes a function for converting multiple .s4p files from measurement into a single .s20p file. By swiftly converting the S-parameter results into a single file it removes the need for repeatedly converting the data, and the complete file for a connector can be read directly into Inspector for assessment against the specification.
Moreover, Inspector's development team supports further customization, including higher port (such as 8-port) VNAs upon request.
Renormalize S-Parameter
In electronic design, different circuits, components, or signal transmission systems will have distinct impedance values based on specific application needs, design standards, or hardware configurations.
Inspector allows the readjustment of signal parameters to specific standard values. For instance, it can transform a differential impedance of 100 or 85 Ohms to single-ended impedances of 50 or 42.5 Ohms. This transformation facilitates easier comparison and assessment of S-Parameters, since the specifications often require a specific impedance value.
